Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use Policy
1. Be Authentic and Accurate
- Use your real authority and do not impersonate an artist, gallery, institution, buyer, representative, or ArtTern.
- Do not falsify authorship, provenance, ownership, editions, certificates, prices, sales, awards, education, exhibitions, press, representation, followers, reviews, or credentials.
- Clearly identify AI-generated or materially AI-altered work where omission could mislead viewers about authorship, process, or authenticity.
- Correct inaccurate information promptly.
2. Respect Rights and Privacy
- Upload only material you own or are authorised to use.
- Obtain photographer, model, property, music, gallery, client, and third-party permissions where needed.
- Do not reveal private contact details, identity documents, financial information, confidential communications, or sensitive data without lawful authority.
- Do not scrape, harvest, compile, sell, or use profile contact data for unsolicited mass marketing.
3. Content Not Allowed
Content or activity may be refused, restricted, or removed if it is unlawful or reasonably appears to:
- promote hatred, discrimination, extremism, terrorism, violence, threats, harassment, or abuse;
- defame, blackmail, intimidate, exploit, or invade another person’s privacy;
- contain obscene, sexually exploitative, child-endangering, or otherwise prohibited material;
- offend applicable religious, cultural, public-morality, national, or UAE media-content standards;
- spread false news, forged documents, misleading claims, rumours, or deceptive advertising;
- facilitate crime, fraud, counterfeit sales, money laundering, sanctions evasion, drugs, weapons, or prohibited goods or services;
- infringe copyright, trademark, moral, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights; or
- create a material legal, safety, security, or reputational risk.
4. Reviews and Communications
- Reviews must describe a genuine experience and relevant facts.
- No paid, exchanged, fabricated, retaliatory, coerced, or conflict-hidden reviews.
- No spam, repeated unsolicited proposals, phishing, malware, abusive messages, or off-platform pressure.
- Disagreement is allowed; harassment and personal attacks are not.
5. Sales, Opportunities, and Events
- Describe prices, fees, deadlines, selection criteria, commission, delivery, refunds, and organiser identity accurately.
- Do not request suspicious payments, misrepresent an opportunity, or promise guaranteed selection or returns.
- ArtTern listing or publication is not authentication, endorsement, representation, or a guarantee.
- Users must conduct due diligence and use appropriate written agreements.
6. Security and Technical Use
Do not probe, scan, attack, overload, reverse engineer, bypass, automate access to, or interfere with the Website; upload malicious code; evade restrictions; create deceptive accounts; scrape at scale; or copy ArtTern data to build a competing directory, dataset, or AI system without written permission.
7. Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, ArtTern may warn, request evidence or edits, reduce visibility, remove content, cancel publication, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, withhold access during investigation, notify affected rights holders or payment providers, and cooperate with competent authorities. Serious or urgent action may occur without prior notice.
Payment consequences are governed by the Refund Policy. Removal for a user’s breach does not ordinarily create a refund.
8. Reporting
Email support@arttern.com with the relevant URL, screenshots, explanation, and supporting evidence. For intellectual-property claims, follow the Content & Intellectual Property Policy. False, malicious, or abusive reports may themselves violate this Policy.
9. Appeals
If your content or account is restricted, you may submit one clear appeal with the decision reference and relevant evidence. ArtTern may maintain a restriction where evidence is insufficient or legal, safety, rights, or operational risk remains. Nothing prevents a person from using rights available under applicable law.
